Just now had confirmed from the dealership that WIRELESS Apple Car Play only works on the less expensive SE and SEL models. What??? So ONE of the reasons I waited for the 2021 Limited (That I picked up yesterday) is because the word on the street was that the 2021 would have wireless ACP.

So I have wireless charging, (ie yea, I can get rid of the cord) but hold on a second, you have to keep the cord connected anyway so as to be able to use ACP. Please someone tell me they’ve heard of a “soon to come” firmware update that will solve this unbelievable disconnect from common sense.

Nothing has been mentioned with regards to a possible update on the larger infotainment system that would enable wireless CarPlay/AA.

There's no "disconnect from common sense" here. The low-end infotainment system was older than the high-end one. It was due for a redesign and the redesign implements wireless CarPlay/AA. The high-end system is newer and not yet due for a redesign. Presumably, the next redesign will also include wireless CarPlay/AA.

The current one may also get it via firmware update, since it appears to have a WiFi module in it that's currently unused (wireless CP/AA requires both Bluetooth and WiFi), but that's pure speculation and I wouldn't bet on it.

Wireless CarPlay and AA aren't yet very common. It's only now that it's starting to appear on more cars. For the longest time, only BMW offered it.

By the way, don't rely on "word on the street" in future. When Hyundai announced the changes for the 2021 model year, they clearly mentioned that wireless CP/AA was for the 8" infotainment system only.

Fair enough, and thanks. I did only a month or so of car comparison and shopping so wouldn’t have seen the published word. FWIW, neither my dealership or Hyundai USA were aware of it either.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t surprise me. The internet often knows more than the salespeople.

It isn't just the limited. I have a 2021 SEL with a 10" screen and I need to plug in for ACP. Their packages are very confusing. The 2020 only offered Sirius Radio on the Limited but the 2021 has it on the SEL.

No, you could get Sirius on a 2020 SEL by getting the drive guidance package, which no longer exists in 2021.
